The Wonderful Beaches in Pembrokeshire
St Davids has some wonderful beaches nearby and they are all within 15 minutes from our cottages.
Whitesand Bay is, perhaps, the best for families, as it offers so much... sandcastles, rock pools, surfing and bodyboarding, as well as a cafe and ice creams!
The views across to Ramsey Island are just spectacular... and towards sunset the cameras come out, as the beach faces directly west!
The beach is very popular with locals and tourists and very often you can see 20-30 surfers competing for the best waves!
There are many sheltered bays, which often seem like your own private beach.
Whitesands has easy access via a gentle slipway and you can hire deck chairs and wind breaks.
It was awarded a Blue Flag in 2023 and is usually patrolled by Lifeguards during the summer months.
Caerfai Bay
Caerfai Bay is the nearest beach to St David's and our cottages.
Best to go at 'lowish' tide, when there is plenty of beach to enjoy and when it's great for swimming, rock pooling, caving and snorkelling.
The beach is a very short distance from the centre of St Davids and can be accessed by a safe path, below the car park.
Newgale
Newgale Beach provides a very wide expanse of sand and surf and is 2 miles along with uninterrupted beach... with a huge pebble bank at the back.
It's very popular for surfing and kitesurfing and was awarded a Blue Flag in 2023.
