I hope that everyone is well and keeping safe. I am pleased to say that we opened our cottages on March 27th for our Welsh customers and we will be opening on Monday April 12th for customers from England, following the recent Government announcements. You may like to look at our website page dedicated to COVID-19, which sets out the way we take care of our customers, our staff and the wonderful people of St Davids. So we are very much looking forward to welcoming you back Ty Gwilym Holiday Cottages after such a long period of closure... a really difficult time for everyone! In the meantime take good care!
One of our customers took this lovely photo from the balcony of Bwthyn Lil last week. Every day the view is different from amazing sunsets and gorgeous blue skies... to sea mist and, now, double rainbows!
A wonderful new shop has open
ed in St Davids...Basalt and Dune. It's located in Maes Dyfed, just off New Street and sells gifts, homewares and lifestyle accessories. It aims to help people be 'calm, relaxed and shop at their leisure' and reflects coastal, country and city lifestyles. We love it! Do visit!
A lovely new Pasta Pop-up has just arrived at the back of TYF... 'Pasta a Mano'
We tried it last night and they serve a variety of delicious pasta dishes (including bolognese, pesto, puttanesca and pomodoro)... as well as coffee and pastries... and wine, beer and cider after 5pm... a great addition to St Davids.
Yesterday we walked from our cottages in the middle of St Davids to Lower Treginnis (the Farm for City Children) and then round to St Justinians. We had a brief lull from the recent storms and the view, as always was amazing, as was lunch in The Meadow!
This photo was captured last weekend just as the sun went down over Ramsey Island. It was taken from St Justinians... showing the old and new lifeboat stations. Another amazing experience near our cottages in St Davids.
Marloes is now host to a great new cafe, which serves bold food and will soon have accommodation too! It was formerly a Youth Hostel, but now serves fresh fish, and vibrant vegetable dishes, freshly prepared every morning. It overlooks Marloes beach on the westerly tip of Pembrokeshire... really worth the trip!
Our cottages appear on the Alastair Sawdays website and, every so often, customers post their reviews. Here are some extracts:
" We found this 'perfect cottage'... a gem... our absolute favourite."
"The best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in"
" Everything about Bwthyn Lil is beautiful... obviously loved by the owners!'
We look forward to hearing from you.
We went across to Ramsey Island yesterday to see seals, cormorants, gannets and oyster catchers... and saw this boat trip on the north side of the 'Bitches' framed by Carn Llidi....another day of wonderful weather in St Davids!
Here is a photo we took last week showing the Cathedral Clock Tower through some oxeye daisies growing in Ty Gwilym Holiday Cottages gardens. Our gardens are full of lavender, oxeye daisies, geraniums and foxgloves.
